Oct. 7, 2003) New teachers in several Virginia school districts and consortia across the state will be getting more support during the "make or break" period of their first years on the job with the expansion of the Educational Testing Service PATHWISE mentoring program. The mentoring program, which has already yielded positive results in Newport News, will benefit from a $1 million federal grant to fund programs that support new teachers and keep them in the classroom.
