Exemplary attendance is defined as one or less absence for a semester. School business such as feild trips, contests, or school counselor visits will not affect perfect or exemplary attendance. Three tarties constitute one day of absence. School attendance is taken each block therefore four blocks equal one day. one block of absence would eliminate perfect attendance. If a student has maintaned a cumulative grade point of 1.0 to 2.65 (D to C+) and has perfect attendance for that semester they will be excused from the last day of second and fourth quarters. If a student has maintained a cumulative grade point average of 2.66 to 4.0 (B- to A) and has has exemplary attendance they will be excused from the last day of second and fourth quarters. Any student with perfect or exemplary attendance may choose to attend the last day of quarters two and four with the hope of improving their grade, but their grade will never be lowered. The attendance calculation for this policywill be made at the end of second and fourth quarters, therefore a student might be excused for a day second quarter but not forth or they may be excused at the end of fourth quater by ganing perfect or exemplary attendance for the second semester regardless of what their attendance was first semester. Note: Special consideration will be given for absences due to a funeral in the immediate family. Immediate family is defined as the students spouse, child, parent. brother, sister, grandparent, parent-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law.
