    Extractions: Modern Transportation Museum This is a great museum located in Osaka. It is directly below the Osaka Loop Line at Bentencho (Also a stop on the Chuo Subway Line). I find it much better then the Tokyo Transportation Museum. I found it interesting that they had some American prototypes on display including a SF Cable Car and an old Steam Locomotive. Two Japanese Stem locomotives on display outside. This American steam locomotive by Baldwin sits outside, but enclosed in glass.     Extractions: The Museum of the Great Plains offers permanent and temporary exhibits year round on a variety of subjects demonstrating Wichita County's rich pioneer heritage. The building itself is a wonderful example of native limestone construction. It was built as a WPA project in 1940 using stone quarried just north of the county. 1:00 - 5:00 Tuesdays through Fridays The School House exhibit allows children to see a school like the ones their great-grandparents attended. The 1893 Post Office from Marienthal, the first one in Wichita county, is on display. The General Store shows the vast array of staples and hardware available. The Millinery Shop was outfitted entirely by one person's collection of old hats. The bank exhibit features antique (late 1800's) teller counters from the First State Bank of Leoti. The museum boasts one of the largest private collection of violins in Kansas. Uniforms from all of the country's wars are on display.
