Except in cases of emergency, it shall be the policy of the districts of CCSU to employ as substitute teachers only those people who possess the qualifications outlined in the job description. The CCSU shall establish and distribute a list of qualified substitutes to each school for the purpose of substitute calling. In order to be placed on our list of qualified substitutes, the following hiring requirements must be met: Hiring Requirements: All potential substitutes shall apply for employment through the Chittenden Central Supervisory Union ("CCSU") office. Application packets shall include a minimum of the following: Application Two letters of recommendation (at least one of which must be employment or education related) One additional name of reference to contact Copy of licenses (if applicable) Human Resources shall screen the application for qualifications, and contact the stated references.
