Cambodia still has between two and seven million land mines buried, mostly in areas where battles raged for years. They have never been disarmed and still do damage to people and farm animals. There are an astounding number of amputees, some of whom are pictured here, (notice the leg sitting next to the guy on the far left above) playing traditional instruments and music that can be heard as you approach the temple sites.
