FOREWORD We are pleased to announce the availability of the long awaited resource manual, The Texas Guide to School Health Programs. This information is intended to enhance the educational process by providing guidance and resources for school administrators, school nurses, teachers and other staff members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school health programs. This material replaces the previous manual School Nurse Handbook for the School Health Program, last published in 1989 by the Texas Education Agency. We are seeking funding to have this manual published as a book, but until then it will be available in its entirety here on the School Health Program website, or on CD ROM. The Texas Guide to School Health Programs was developed under the leadership of the Texas Department of Health, School Health Program, in collaboration with the University of Texas School of Nursing. A highly qualified group of professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise assisted with providing content and reviewing the material. We hope this is a useful resource.
