Park Scholarships - Applying - Instructions To High School Officials who use the four selection criteria of scholarship, leadership, service and characterto select their very best candidates to endorse for the Park scholarships http://www.ncsu.edu/park_scholarships/applying_ihigh.htm
Extractions: The Park Scholars are selected from across the state and nation. We rely first on the judgment of the high schools, who use the four selection criteria of scholarship, leadership, service and character to select their very best candidates to endorse for the Park Scholarships. Successful candidates are of the highest caliber in all four areas OR are exceptional in at least one area and show great potential in others. For example, a student may have stellar academic achievements compared to others in his or her class, but have limited leadership positions in his or her school. If the student has displayed some leadership potential in his or her community, he or she may be a viable candidate. Tips for Selecting Students We recommend that high schools announce the scholarship competition to their best students.
