In general, there are two aspects of providing support for formal developments: presentation support and production support. In my talk I will present the GEM/MEX tool providing both kinds of support for Montages: The Graphical Editor For Montages (GEM) provides support for creating and manipulating Montages specifications by means of a specialized graphical editor as well as for generating presentation documents by means of generators for LaTeX and Html code. The program generator MEX ( Montages Executable Generator ) checks the consistency of the specification and generates Sather source code that can be compiled into an executable version of the Montages specification.

The Borland C++ Compiler Digital Mars C and C++ Compilers DJGPP - C/C++ compiler for DOS Watcom C - they're open sourcing the Watcom compiler! As of 8/30/01 when I wrote this it's not ready for public consumption yet, however. Dev-C++ - a great free IDE that uses MinGW as its compiler. It works "right out of the box", and I'm very happy with it. And of course, don't forget GCC, etc. (which you already have if you're running Unix) from GNU as well as the Cygwin port of it all.
