On this, the 53rd anniversary of the Nakbe' (the Catastrophe of the Palestinian people), it is all too tempting for friend and foe alike to define Israel, and zionism, solely by the Americans' proclamations of its enlightened democracy. To do so is to miss the normal atrocities that occur in Israel daily, the millions who are under curfew and blockade, starving and brutalized, in the Middle East's only colonized state. To do so is to feign the reality of zionism, a racist and irredeemable movement, that survived the twentieth centuries' other genocidal and seemingly passing revolutions such as Bolshevism, Nazism, and Apartheid. A century ago, zionism extended Western colonialism to Palestine.

Zionism is an apartheid philosophy. Its founder, Theodore Herzl, was dismayed by the mass anti-Semitism in France aroused by the Dreyfuss affair. He became convinced that the separation of the Jews from the Gentiles by ingathering all Jews in a separate Jewish nation was the only solution to the age old "Jewish problem."

In Ireland Travellers bare the brunt of both state racism and individual racism. This article explains who Travellers are and how racism against them can be fought while this one looks at Travellers demands for decent halting sites . Racism against Travellers is not even recognised as such, here we look at a particularly extreme example of media racism by Ireland largest circulation paper. The first years of the 1990's saw an apparent resurgence of European fascism . This article surveys this and looks at its causes. But in looking at the 90's resurgence it is important to see how it differs from the 1930's and to recognise that it is state backed racism rather then big business that's fuelling the fascists this time around. In the aftermath of forcing fascist organiser and Holocaust denier David Irving to cancel an Irish speaking tour this talk looks at tactics that can be used to defeat the fascists.
