Extractions: We would like to thank you for your interest in Apollonia's Nubians. We are located in Central Point, Oregon. We have been raising Nubians and Saanens since 1988, starting with one purebred Saanen doe and two purebred Nubians for milk. Since then we have so much fallen in love with these amiable creatures, that we have expanded. We have been showing since 1990 and have done well at the shows that we have attended. Our breeding programs have focused on breeding for milky show goats. We have stayed small so as to cull (sell for meat) goats with health problems or structural defects. We will not sell anything that we ourselves would not keep.

Extractions: California Turtle and Tortoise Club Poisonous Plant List Many common plants are toxic and keepers must make sure that their herbivorous chelonians are kept away from them. A simple step to take to minimize the risks to your turtles and tortoises is to learn the names of all the plants in your home and yard so that you can prevent any untoward contact with poisonous plants. If you are unable to identify specific plants your local nursery may be able to identify them for you. Be sure to note the correct spellings of both the common and the botanical names, and keep a list of the names for future use. If you do take plants to your nursery for identification be sure to take a sufficient sample that represents the plant as a whole. The following list is based on CTTC's poison plant list as published in the Tortuga Gazette 28(1): 8-10, January 1992 with periodic updates as more data becomes available. The list itself was based on the University of California Irvine, Regional Poison Center list of plants that are toxic or potentially toxic to humans. They recognize four levels of toxicity, indicated by a number following the plant name, and the four levels are explained at the end of the article. Note that the treatments recommended are for humans. Use your own best judgment in applying them to your pets. Initially, be sure to remove any remaining parts of the plant from the mouth. If any symptoms of abnormal behavior or signs of irritation in the mouth occur, seek prompt medical attention.

Extractions: This web site presents a wide variety of Montana wildflowers and other plants growing in the wilds of Montana. The flora of Montana is very varied and contains many species which range extends from the Pacific Northwest region as well as from the Great Plains. The site includes edible plants, medicinal plants as well as poisonous plants with sub-categories for edible roots, poisonous berries etc. Choices can also be made for displaying introduced vs. native plants and weeds. On the left menu there are indexes for english and scientific names, plus all presented species ordered after families. There are also lists for flowering month and plant types, for a total of 31 different indexes. Each presented species has its own page with pictures, a full description and, if applicable, information about edibility, medicinal and poisonous properties. The plant search engine from the title bar above can be used to search the entire plant identification database for any words or phrases, for example "lily", "arthritis", "Lewisia", "cancer" etc. If a name is not found in the indexes, it can often be found from a search instead. Each presented plant family has its own page with a description of its unique characteristics plus a plant identification online guide with pictures, short descriptions and links to the species that belong to it. The menu on the title bar above is the main navigation of the site. On the plant identification page, flower color, number of petals, leaf type etc. can be selected to find an unknown plant. This unique online plant identification system uses easy choices and images instead of a traditional plant identification key to arrive at the correct species. The site is created with the intent that anybody, without much prior knowledge about botany, should be able to identify and find information about Montana wildflowers and plants in general from the Montana flora. Therefore the guides on each family and genus page have also been set up to use easily recognizable features about the plants and, in addition, the images can be used to find the correct species.

Most poisonings tend to occur in people from foreign countries who pick Amanitas that look "just like" those yummy ones they ate at home or to overconfident novice mycophagists (people who wild mushrooms) who have not bothered to properly identify their mushrooms. So, if you plan to hunt the wild mushroom, make sure to arm yourself with the proper knowledge and only eat a wild mushroom in a foreign country based upon identification in that country's field guide, not a North American guide.
