Usually, patrons are searching for ancestors, researching particular ACW regiments, or looking for examples of items worn or used by soldiers of the period. Ultimately, this database will reflect the full range of USAMHI's photographic collection, ranging from the periods of the Mexican War in the 1840s to recent operations such as those in Somalia and Bosnia. On three different occasions David has been named one of A.P.P.I.'s Top Ten Photographers In Illinois. He has twice earned best portrait in Illinois honors and is regularly included in the P.P.A. national exhibit. In 2003 he competed for the first time in the international Senior Photographers International winning first place in the senior boys division and third place in the senior girls division.
