It is an open club which caters for all walks of life and our members range from complete novices to world champions and olympic medallists. The clubhouse is situated on Glasgow Green next to the Weir. One half of the boathouse building is occupied by a number of other rowing clubs, Clyde, Clyde Masters and Strathclyde University. Clydesdale ARC is one of the best rowing clubs in Scotland with many members each year going on to represent both Clydesdale and Scotland internationally and even, for those who train for it, onto the Great Britain squad. Over the years the club has won numerous Scottish Championship medals along with a great number of British Championship medals. Previous members of Clydesdale ARC that have achieved outstanding achievements include Gillian Lindsey, Ali Barnes, Ailie Ord and Gavin Shaw. Our history is part of the fabric of Glasgow. Our first president was G H Rodgers, perhaps better known as the proprietor of the Bodego wine bar, later to become known as one of Glasgow's oldest restaurants, "The Rogano." The club actively seeks to incorporate members from all regions of Glasgow through membership drives in schools, corporate events and interaction with leisure centers in Glasgow.
