Extractions: Celebrity Profiles: Content On Brill Self-righteous, powerful, and with his own media empire? Okay, there are a few of those? He also happens to be a brilliant writer and a fastidious reporter. A stickler for accuracy and journalistic integrity, Steven Brill is one of America's most famous watchdogs. He recently shifted his eyes towards the media with his latest creation, Brill's Content magazine, which was launched in the summer of 1998. Known for his sarcasm, temper, and ruthlessly competitive nature, Brill is said to have bitten an opponent during a 'friendly' water polo game with co-workers. Perhaps this brutal straightforwardness is what engenders Brill's uncanny ability (and undying compulsion) to expose hypocrisy-Brill is completely devoted to his own explicit concept of journalistic integrity. Born in Queens, New York, Brill attended boarding school at the prestigious Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, then went to Yale for both undergraduate and law school. While at the nation's most prestigious law school, Brill was notoriously absent from class - as he spent most of his time in New York working for Mayor John Lindsay and writing for

During the mid-60s, Gretel's paternal grandfather, Dr. Antonio Tiongson, a specialist in hematology, together with her grandmother, Cornelia, a pediatrician, petitioned her father, Danilo, his wife, Grace, and all of their four children (which included Gretel, the eldest of the siblings) to migrate to America. Gretel recalls, "I transferred from Assumption in Makati after my junior year where I was in boarding school living next door to the nuns." Her parents had to make the decision to sell their business. "We had a flourishing palaisdaan in Lingayen and Binmaley, Pangasinan as well as sugarcane and rice plantations in Baculong, Tarlac," she adds.

Extractions: Teen Staff Writer Phillips Academy, located in Andover, is unlike many high schools in the area. Founded in 1798, it has been the school of many famed writers, politicians and celebrities, including current President Bush and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. However, what really separates Phillips from other schools is its residential boarding program. More than 70 percent of the students attending Phillips live on campus for the duration of the school year. They reside in the many dorms which stretch nearly all the way into Andover's downtown area. These dormitories vary greatly in terms of size and population. Some house only five to six people, while others can hold around 40. For students, the experience is different from a small to a large dorm. Ben Heller, an 11th-grader at Phillips, has lived in both size dormitories. "In smaller dorms you form more of a community with the guys in the dorm for better or for worse," said the 17-year-old. "In a larger dorm, there's a little more of a distance but it can also be a good thing. You can be a lot more independent in a larger dorm; there's so many different things going on you can't possibly do everything, but you can choose what you want to do." The dormitories also vary in location. Some are very central to the campus, and therefore classes are only a minute away from the house. However, some are on the outskirts of Phillips, and students need up to five minutes to get to their morning classes. In these cases, bikes are usually an important part of the Phillips experience.

These were first and only round interviews before a decision would be made. This is by far the best interview question I've ever gotten... You have two candle wicks. The manufacturer guarantees that upon lighting the end of a wick, it will burn for exactly one hour before you are left with nothing but ashes. Given two such wicks, how can you time exactly 45 minutes? Hint: The wicks are *not* guaranteed to burn uniformly, and the two wicks might even burn very differently, the only guarantee is the one hour. A List of Sport Interests Ive never been especially good at team sports, especially ones that involve a horde of people chasing after one ball or puck. I dunno, I always get a bit too nervous when 4 people are shouting, "Im open, Im open" when clearly theyre all being double-teamed. Maybe Im too nice. I pass it to these people anyway. Come to think of it, I tend to pass as soon as I can, which is clearly not the best idea for most sports. Computer Games st grade to 4 th grade, we could only play video games on the weekends. From 5
Poynter Online - Abuse Tracker of new jersey Superior Court ruled that new jersey s Charitable Immunity Act prevented victims from suing the Princetonbased boarding school, although they http://www.poynter.org/dg.lts/id.46/aid.16475/column.htm
Extractions: New Jersey judge has dismissed two lawsuits against the American Boychoir School, where dozens of former students say they were molested as children by the choir director and other employees. The judge ruled that as a nonprofit institution, the school could not be sued for acts that injured children, "no matter how flagrant that conduct may be." In a decision issued on Monday, Judge Jack Sabatino of New Jersey Superior Court ruled that New Jersey's Charitable Immunity Act prevented victims from suing the Princeton-based boarding school, although they could sue individual employees who abused them or did not try to stop abuse. Noting that lawmakers and the courts had interpreted the law as granting nonprofit groups broad protections, Judge Sabatino wrote, "This court is constrained to hold that the act insulates charitable organizations from liability for any degree of tortious conduct, no matter how flagrant that conduct may be." He ruled that "contentions that employees and agents of the American Boychoir School acted willfully, wantonly, recklessly, indifferently even criminally do not eviscerate the school's legal protection."
