NEW HAMPSHIRE New Hampshire General Court with Commentary by Doris Hohensee (doris@mainstream.net) I.Summary of objections: Mere compliance with N.H.'s home education law results in a loss of parental rights. Although courts have upheld the primary right and obligation of parents to raise and educate their children, New Hampshire law recognizes only "the primary right and obligation of a parent to CHOOSE the appropriate educational alternative for a child under his care and supervision, AS PROVIDED BY LAW." Parents' right to educate their children has now been reduced to a choice of State-approved State-regulated educational alternatives and then only "as prescribed by law." N.H.'s law requires parental 'application' not 'notification' to the State.
