The Guidance required that between January and October 1994 the project areas receiving federal HIV prevention funds design and implement a community planning process. In response to this initiative, representatives from the Nevada State Health Division, local health districts, and community representatives throughout Nevada decided to convene one statewide group to address community planning. This group was named the HIV Prevention Community Planning Group, referred to as the Community Planning Group (CPG). The CPG serves as a standing sub-committee of the State AIDS Advisory Task Force, and is charged with the task of developing a comprehensive HIV prevention plan for the State of Nevada, and presenting this plan to the public. MISSION The overall mission of the CPG is to develop a Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan for the State of Nevada and to: Promote community participation and involvement in HIV related services and activities Strive to reduce the duplication of services and improve coordination within the State for service implementation Strengthen local and statewide partnerships in the fight against HIV disease.
