MichiganSearching ~ EGroup Search Tip Everyone searching in Michigan should call the court requesting a petition, with an appropriate check for $60 and get it filed ASAP, along with a waiver of confidentiality. Then they, the state, will search the state of MI for the family. If they are still living in MI, they will send the family a waiver to sign....they sent one to my son by overnight delivery...and enclosed a return OD which he sent immediatly. If the family has moved out of state, the petition must go before the judge to see of it will be deemed necessary for a CI to be appointed. In most cases it happens. Health reasons are the best way to get the judge to grant it. I hope this helps everyone in MI searching. Marilyn ~
