Extractions: Important Notices Lodging still available at the Radisson and Wyndham Hotels **Reduced conference rates still apply until June 11, 2004!! ** Guidelines for Poster Presentations Guidelines for Oral Speaker Presentations WCRP Town Hall Meeting , Thursday, June 24 at 6PM Poster Session List Available The international CLIVAR (Climate Variability and Predictability) program, under the auspices of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), focuses on describing and understanding variability and change of the physical climate system on time scales from months to centuries and beyond. The goal is to assess predictability and develop information systems and practical prediction capabilities through the use of new suites of observations, historical records, paleo records, analysis of data, development of products, and application of coupled climate system models. Since its official launch at the first International CLIVAR Conference in Paris (1998), CLIVAR has emphasized cross-disciplinary perspectives in exploring the dynamics of the coupled atmosphere, land, and ocean climate system. Guided by the CLIVAR Science and Implementation Plans, CLIVAR has coordinated activities leading to advancements in many areas.
