The Campus of the University's College of Marine Studies, located at the mouth of the Delaware Bay, is the site for many of its marine related courses and research programs. Beach, rocky intertidal and tide-marsh habitats exist within a few miles of the Marine Studies laboratories. A sophisticated running sea water system supports laboratory studies associated with research and courses. Students have access to research vessels ranging from small boats used along the bay shore to the Cape Henlopen, a 120 ft. offshore oceanographic vessel. Beaches, intertidal areas, marinas and port facilities are about a one-hour-drive from the college campus. Second, you will need to complete 30 semester hours from an accredited four year university or college (i.e. UNCW), maintain at least a 2.0 overall GPA and have completed two laboratory biology courses (BIO 110 and 205 or 206) with at least a 2.5 GPA in those two courses. Applications are available in DO-102 (Biological Sciences Office). If you are a transfer student you will be asked to declare a major when you submit your application to UNCW.
