With their focus on the individual, however, Libertarians tend to distrust government and other social institutions. This philosophy impedes Party growth; it's difficult to build a political party with members who don't believe in political parties. Therefore, most Libertarian Party policy is shaped at the local level, with little coordination between County Chapters or oversight by State and National leaders.
