Imprint Knitting Pattern Webring Imprint knitting pattern webring. Purpose. The imprint knitting pattern webring is intended as a promotional tool for authors of hand http://www.girlfromauntie.com/patterns/imprint/imprint_ring.asp
Extractions: The imprint knitting pattern webring is intended as a promotional tool for authors of hand and machine knitting patterns and content who sell their work directly to the consumer. By now, I think it's pretty obvious that there's a new sort of dot com bubble that has been expanding over the past couple of years. In addition to the knitting entrepreneurs who have been teaching and publishing their own newsletters and patterns for years, and selling them the "old-fashioned," mail order way, there's a crop of new designers and publishers who have figured that the Internet has provided a convenient vehicle for distributing their own visions. (The bubble isn't restricted to content creatorsa number of Internet-first, bricks-and-mortar later yarn shops have started up too.) Now, we all know what happens to dot com bubbles, but in the meantime, jump on and enjoy the ride. The idea for this webring was driven by three factors: First, obviously, I'm planning to start offering my own patterns for sale. Increased hits means a likelihood of higher sales, and a chance that maybe this scheme will pay for my web hosting, and perhaps a bit of yarn. Secondly, I know that there are a number of self-published newsletters and patterns out there. Some of these entrepreneurs, who earn their living in part through their knitting-related writing and teaching, have done a good job of promoting their products. But I can think of some who aren't quite as well known who could maybe use all the free promotion they can get. Thirdly, there's the odd dilettante who already has a full-time occupation but wants to try selling their wares on the side. Some of these people have been rather successful.

Extractions: I am having terrible problems holding the yarn in place to pick/scoop for my purl stitches. I've tried several methods of wrapping and finally ended up holding the yarn between my index and thumb, which is very awkward, slow and uncomfortable. This method is so fast for knitting, that if I can master the purl I will probably stay with it, rather than the English (wrap) style that I've always used. I hope you can help. A

Knitting - Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia knitting. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Enlarge Knit hat, yarn, and knitting needles. knitting is one of several http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting
Extractions: Knit hat, yarn, and knitting needles Knitting is one of several ways to turn thread or yarn into cloth (cf crochet ). Unlike woven fabric, knitted fabric consists entirely of parallel courses of yarn. The courses are joined to each other by interlocking loops in which a short loop of one course of yarn is wrapped over the bight of another course (Rutt, 2003). In practice, knitting is usually begun (or "cast on") by forming a base series of twisted loops of yarn on a knitting needle . A second knitting needle is then used to reach through each loop (or stitch) in succession in order to snag a bight of yarn and pull a length back through the loop. This forms a new stitch at the top of the current wale of stitches (or loops). Work can proceed in the round or by going back and forth in rows. Knitting can also be done by machines Originally a male only occupation, the first knitting trade guild was started in Paris in 1527. Knitting became a household occupation with the growing popularity of knitted stockings and by the end of the 1600's 1 to 2 million pairs of stockings were exported from Britain to other parts of Europe. The two basic stitches are knit (or "plain") and purl (or "wrong"). These two nominal stitches are actually identical, however, being the
