Extractions: Peer Review EPA Finalizes Quality of Life Standards for Hudson River Cleanup EPA has released its final quality of life performance standards for the Hudson River cleanup. These standards were developed to reduce the potential quality of life impacts of dredging, sediment processing, transferring and dewatering, and support operations on people, businesses, recreation, and community activities in and along the Upper Hudson River. EPA fully considered public comments on the standards for air quality, noise, odor, light, and navigation before they were finalized. These standards will now be incorporated into the dredging project design plans being prepared by General Electric Company (GE) under an agreement with EPA. EPA will review the design plans for consistency with the quality of life performance standards and will oversee cleanup activities to ensure that they are met.
