Will the Moon ever look like it does on the Singapore flag? What date of the year is the earliest sunrise in Singapore? How did ancient sailors navigate? After taking this course you will become conscious of the motion of the Sun and the Moon and notice and question things you have earlier taken for granted. You will appreciate mankind's struggle through the ages and throughout the world to understand the mathematics of the heavens. Extractions: THE NATURE OF HEAVENLY CONTEMPLATION; WITH THE TIME, PLACE, AND TEMPER FITTEST FOR IT. The duty of heavenly contemplation is recommended and defined. The definition is illustrated. I. The times fittest for it are represented as, 1. Stated; 2. Frequent; 3. Seasonable every day, particularly every Lordâs day, but more especially when our hearts are warmed with a sense of divine things; or when we are afflicted or tempted; or when we are near death. II. The fittest place for it. III. The fittest temper for it, 1. When our minds are most clear of the world, 2. And most solemn and serious. Once more I entreat thee, reader, as thou makest conscience of a revealed duty, and darest not wilfully resist the Spirit; as thou valuest the high delights of a saint, and the soul-ravishing exercise of heavenly contemplation; that thou diligently study, and speedily and faithfully practice the following directions. If, by this means, thou dost not find an increase of all thy graces, and dost not grow beyond the stature of a common Christian, and art not made more serviceable in thy place, and more precious in the eyes of all discerning persons; if thy soul enjoy not more communion with God, and thy life be not fuller of comfort, and thou has not more support in a dying hour; then cast away these directions, and exclaim against me for ever as a deceiver. The duty which I press upon thee so earnestly, and in the practice of which I am now to direct thee, is, âThe set and solemn acting of all the powers of thy soul in meditation upon thy everlasting rest.â More fully to explain the nature of this duty, I will here illustrate a little the description itself; and then point out the fittest time, place, and temper of mind for it.
Spurious: The Heavenly Fire (2) He writes in the time of the distress, which is to say, the time withoutthe heavenly fire. March 24, 2004 in Blanchot, Heidegger Permalink. http://spurious.typepad.com/spurious/2004/03/the_heavenly_fi_1.html
Extractions: Minerva, An Internet Journal of Philosophy ... Main In Blanchotâs words, the sacred âthreatens ceaselessly to tear and disorient usâ. But did it not threaten the Greeks, too? Is it possible to discern a reserve concealed by the gods themselves â a turbulence of the sacred before the gods, in their charisma, could grant a shared but pre-reflective ethos to a people? There is a transgression of shared, pre-reflective norms that constitute what Hegel would call Greek Sittlichkeit that would reach back before the Greeks and before the institution of any possible people. It is this non-Greek opening that Blanchotâs H¶lderlin witnesses. His attempt to impose form on the indeterminable is what defines H¶lderlin as the poet in our time â which, for him, is the âtime of distress.â The time of distress: for Blanchot, this phrase always designates âthe time which in all times is proper to artâ: it is the time of dispossession, of the impossible attempt to determine the indeterminable that becomes explicit in the wake of the gods. It is a time that reveals itself not in H¶lderlinâs call for the return of the heavenly fire to Germany, but in a kind of limitless distress. For it is in bearing witness to the absence of the gods, to the ruins of the temple, that H¶lderlin develops his invented mythology, which is to say, his construction of an imaginary Europe in line with Herderâs palingenesis. H¶lderlin pretends that this Europe exists and that he, the poet, speaks for its community. In so doing, he pretends there is a relationship between poet and audience of the sort he believed Pindar to have enjoyed even as he knows this relationship is impossible.

Extractions: Nicholas Copernicus: The Revolutions of the Heavenly Bodies, 1543 Dedication to Pope Paul III "Some maintain that the Earth is stationary, but Philolaus the Pythagorean says that it revolves in a circle about the fire of the ecliptic, like the sun and moon. Heraklides of Pontus and Ekphantus the Pythagorean make the Earth move, not changing its position, however, confined in its falling and rising around its own center in the manner of a wheel." Taking this as a starting point, I began to consider the mobility of the Earth; and although the idea seemed absurd, yet because I knew that the liberty had been granted to others before me to postulate all sorts of little circles for explaining the phenomena of the stars, I thought I also might easily be permitted to try whether by postulating some motion of the Earth, more reliable conclusions could be reached regarding the revolution of the heavenly bodies, than those of my predecessors. Discussion Questions What concerns does Copernicus have about the "orthodoxy" of his arguments?

Doing so, it transitions from the evening to the morning sky, where it will remain for the rest of the year. This month of maximum sunshine could be titled "month of vanishing planets." Jupiter alone remains conspicuous in the west at nightfall; all the remaining bright planets now sink into the Sun's glare, joining the newly vanished winter constellations. Impossibly dim planet Pluto comes to opposition on the 11th in Ophiuchus; a large telescope is needed to see it. Look for the Moon to join lonely Jupiter on the 23rd. Heaven This brings an end to the experience of heaven or a physical afterlifefor all humans in present time. All future human deaths http://home.tiscali.nl/gibbon/heaven.htm
Extractions: Merduk and Innana Study of Danrich material Like I have said before. This site isn't about sustaining every possible belief we have gathered so far. This site is about introducing new ideas, no matter how unpopular they may be. Here we have a rather unique theory about the origins of heaven. In a Great Central Sun transmission received by Karen Danrich in September 2001 we can read about Annunaki establishing heaven some 104,000 (26,000 * 4) years ago. Let me know what you think about this idea and the ones following in the text below: HEAVEN AND DISCARNATE HUMAN FORM It was the false intervention, whose goal is to sustain discarnate form forever, that the concept of sustaining discarnate human form became a thought-form upon Earth. Generally speaking, when a body dies, the energy system that surrounds the form known as the astral or light body is dissolved. So this is for all other species upon Earth, along with the dolphins and whales. Dolphins and whales do not continue to exist non-physically after death, but rather the consciousness of the deceased dolphin or whale joins the next incarnation contributing their understanding and awareness to the evolution of their own future generations. Merduk along with the Annanuki wished for immortality. After 18,000 years in the physical, and the decay that was great enough to cause insanity and warfare which culminated in a nuclear annihilation of Earth, the Annanuki bargained for information on how to sustain their nonphysical form after death. This information came from the false intervention, and indeed up until recently, the cast of characters from the Annanuki has continued to exist in the nonphysical realms surrounding Earth. Some of such nonphysical humans include the character known as Merduk (also known as Hades), along with Innana (also known as Venus or Aphrodite), and also includes most documented Greek or Roman Gods including Athena and Zeus (Zeus is also known as Ashtar). All told, there were 12 Annanuki that perpetuated their nonphysical existence following their death some 30,000 years ago (120,000 human years), and have continued to manipulate Earth therein.

Extractions: I love the feeling of getting things done. Today I registered P. and got him an MCP card, as well as updating my MCP. He's now a person in the eyes of the government and the healthcare system. He was very good while we were out and only fussed as we waited at MCP - an hour and a half after we left the house, an hour and a half after he was first put in his carseat. He slept last night. From 11:30 to 4:30 he slept. To some, this may sound like nothing. To the mother of a fivealmostsix week old, it's fantastic. I woke up with it was light out. He ate then went back to sleep. And then didn't eat again until a little after 10:00 (however, could have eaten when we were at MCP, so it was great he held off until we got home). Of course, he seems to have been eating since then. He'll eat, sleep, spitup, wakeup, cry, eat and so on. But that's ok. I just hate when he cries - he's upset enough to cry, which means he's upset. Right now he's sleeping wonderfully, which thrills me. I need to take some pictures of him in the really cool stuff that she sent us (yay, curious george!!!) but until then, enjoy these pictures. Or not. I know I do.
Extractions: Us, humans, have merely a worm's eye view of God's big apple of the Universe and the mysterious surrounding Heavenly Realm outside of it! So for us to talk about " Heaven " is like a worm talking from inside his mushy apple , about the endless unknown reality of space and light as an " Out-of-Apple Experience ", and our talking about "Resurrection " or "Angelic bodies ", as the same worm trying to coin his next manifestation as bug or butterfly, as a glorified worm body We realise it remains difficult! Yet we can consult reliable sources of knowledge about the next life, when we read about or had a " Near Death Experience" or other spiritual experiences OR ... if we read the Bible! IF you dowith a non-churchian mindset that isyou come to some amazing conclusions! One of which is very startling! The fact that angels and us can make love or have SEX in Heaven!
