Dundalk Grammar School Homepage Gives information about the school, student welfare and careers. http://www.dundalkgrammarschool.ie/
Extractions: It is our hope that this prospectus will give some idea of what life is like at the Dundalk Grammar School. Far better, of course, to see the school as it functions daily and to meet and talk with staff and pupils. The headmaster will be happy to welcome parents and family members, particularly during term time when they can see the school in action. Background: Dundalk Grammar School has a venerable history. From 1739 to 1835 it was a Charter School. In 1835 it was reorganised, largely by the Revd Elias Thackeray, as the Dundalk Educational Institution. It was in abeyance during World War I, and in 1921 was revived by a local committee and reconstituted as Dundalk Grammar School. This committee was later enlarged and became the Board of Governors. The Governors meet frequently and are assisted by the school's Board of Management, which has representatives from the Governors, staff and parents. Since 1739 the school has been closely associated with the Incorporated Society for Promoting Protestant Schools in Ireland. Our main aim is to produce well-educated, well-rounded young people who are tolerant of others, enthusiastic for life, and who, no matter what their ability, will develop to their full potential.

Nothing makes a confirmed curmudgeon crankier than misuse of the English language, especially if that curmudgeon has devoted his adult life to studying and teaching English â and even more so if he has spent countless hours editing bad prose. This site is an outlet for an old guy who is tired of hearing teenagers punctuate every sentence with a half dozen like s, baffled by the apparent inability of many presumably literate adults to distinguish between
