Extractions: The History on my family started years ago, but I have recently begun to get interested in what the McMillan Clan really is. My grandfather, Robert H. McMillan Jr, and my grandmother, Gladys Green McMillan , researched for many years into our family history and lineage. Out of all this came a book, The Record of McMillan and Allied Families I have had a copy for most of my life, but have only just begun to understand what it means to be actively involved in a Clan. I currently live just outside Atlanta, Georgia with my wife and two kids . I work in Kennesaw Georgia at Quality Fabricators and run my own internet service, Reaching Branches , which provides websites for the sunday school classes in churches. I have been truly blessed in so many ways. I am continuing my journey into learning more about the Clan as a whole. The more I research and talk with people, the more I am learning just how vast our family is. I hope with this website I can grow in knowledge and wisdom as I meet more and more of our most interesting family.

Contents of our magazine include church and courthouse records, family and Bible records, newspaper abstracts, miscellaneous genealogical information and unlimited queries. Coweta and Old Campbell Counties are the primary focus but information on other areas included when space permits. Campbell County, Georgia was made up of land of the 7th, 8th and 9th Dist. of Coweta County in 1828. In 1931 Campbell County was merged into Fulton Co. There were many Coweta genealogical connection in what is now called Old Campbell County. The CCGS has a large collection of that information. Each CCGS quartile has a segment of Old Campbell County history in it. Here you can find a sample of information on "Old Campbell County" and the CCGS quartely, "The Coweta Courier".

Extractions: Once information has been submitted to my web-site, the information remains under the ownership and control of the original compiler. If someone submits information, then comes back in 6 months and asks me to remove it, I will do so. The only information I will not pull is information I have compiled myself (mainly cemetery records). I have very little public information that is not currently on-line. What you see is what I have. On the other hand, I do have quite a few photographs and other small projects I am working to put on-line. Those projects are mainly photograph-based and do not contain much "hard data." I do not do personal lookups at courthouses, libraries, etc. Please contact the courthouse and / or the Bryan-Lang Library. They will charge about $10 an hour. The Bryan-Lang will usually do "basic" lookups for free - census records and such. However, don't hold me or them to that! Policies can change!

Extractions: The History of Covington and Newton County (adapted from Newton County Chamber of Commerce Newton County was created by the Georgia General Assembly on December 24, 1821. It was named for Revolutionary War hero Sergeant John Newton. It was formed from parts of Henry, Jasper, and Walton Counties. The Creek Indians roamed the land until 1813 when Governor Thorp negotiated a treaty in which the Creeks gave up their claim to the land A decade later the last of the Creek Indians were banished to Oklahoma over the "Trail of Tears." The first white settlers located in Eastern Newton County in a town then-named Winton. "The Brick Store" was built in 1822 and still stands today. Lack of adequate water caused the settlers to move further west and stablish Newtonsboro. The name was later changed to Covington after General Leonard Covington, a hero in the war of 1812. In 1853 Covington was incorporated as a City. The coming of the railroad in 1845 was the beginning of the growth and stability of Newton County. Newton County's extensive agricultural base produced related industries, like textile mills, as early as the 1840's. After 1900, textiles became a major industry in the area serving the farmers of the surrounding counties.
