In order to be consistent with the policies of the Comprehensive Plan, the Land Development Regulations will require extensive revisions. A countywide team provides technical advice and guidance as this process advances. As a part of the LDR revision, there will be a series of Special Meetings with the County Commission on the relevant issues surrounding the revision. Issue Papers will be presented, that outline the topic, that reference relevant Comprehensive Plan policies and any existing code on the issue, that will give the Board a series of decision points for board recommendation, and that will offer options relating to these points as well as staff's recommendation on the issue. On the Thursday of the week following each of these special Board meetings will be a public workgroup meeting where citizens will get an overview of the relevant topic and have an opportunity to discuss concerns regarding that issue and/or others. There will also be ongoing meetings of the Community Planning Group, an interdepartmental committee with representatives from several departments, as well as the regular Planning Commission meetings, where updates of the LDR Revision process will be regularly reported. Community Planning Group meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Grace Knight Conference Room on the second floor of the County Administration Building at 8:30 am. Planning Commission meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Jack Durance Auditorium, Room 209, on the second floor of the County Administration Building at 6:30 pm.
