Sources Of Grain Market Information; G82-622-A through the Nebraska Agricultural statistics Office in periodicalscommodity, farmand trade magazinesthat File G622 under farm management K14, Marketing http://ianrpubs.unl.edu/farmmgt/g622.htm
Extractions: This NebGuide lists widely used and readily available market information sources that contain information which may be useful to agricultural producers, lenders and agribusiness firms when making grain marketing decisions. Most of the available market information and statistical data comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Generally, there are two basic types of market information available to data users. The first type, Market News Service, is provided by the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) and concerns daily prices used to make short-run marketing decisions. The mass media provide coverage of these daily prices. However, because of time and space limitations, detailed background information and analysis are usually lacking. The second type of information, provided by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and the Economic Research Service (ERS), considers current supply and demand information and forecasts made from analysis of supply and demand interaction. Such information is vital to understanding price movements and trends, and is also helpful in making short-run, medium-run and long-run marketing decisions.

The IFF is mandated to report the results of its deliberations to the Eighth Session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) of the United Nations in 2000. A main topic of the session was "some form of international arrangements or mechanisms" for promoting sustainable management of all types of forests. The delegation from Japan emphasized the following points, primarily through a presentation by Mr. Tsuguo Ban, Deputy Director-General of the Forestry Agency: (1) The international community must continue to cooperate to prevent deforestation and degradation of all types of forests. Such cooperation should facilitate the promotion of sustainable forest management throughout the world. It is crucial that the IPF Proposals for Action be implemented. (2) It is essential to build international consensus on "some form of international arrangements or mechanisms" for sustainable forest management. Such a consensus will ensure the continuation of international efforts to promote sustainable forest management over the long term. Reviewing current efforts is important to the process of building consensus.

This complexity also creates possible alternative uses and values for those resources. The State's political environment thus includes economic and political interests in agriculture, rural communities, urban development, outdoor recreation, and the environment. Mississippians face a number of important agricultural and resource policy issues. The state's farmers currently receive roughly $275 million per year in federal commodity payments. However, federal budget pressures and political shifts could limit future federal commodity programs. Mississippi agriculture is also subject to potential restrictions from the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Food Quality Protection Act and FIFRA, Conservation Compliance programs, state laws, and local restrictions. The U.S. Congress, the Mississippi Legislature, and local governments have been dealing with the following items affecting agriculture:
