Global Real Estate Project 22 August 2002 I would like to go a little bit beyond the sensational headlines about the recent European floods. This was a wonderful book, with characteristic Lloyd Alexander wit and humor, along with his deft story-telling. People of all ages will enjoy this latest escapade of Vesper Holly! Unlike the other books in the Vesper Holly series, this book takes places in an actual place, Philadelphia (as you might have gathered from the title). The World Exposition is going to be held there, but the opening keeps on being delayed, problems of plagued it from the start. President Grant goes to Vesper Holly's home and pleads for Vesper to rescue the kidnapped children in the care of the Brazilian King. The stage is set for some grand Vesper Holly action with her guardian Brinnie, Smiler and Slider (from the previous books), and a new character, Weed in toll! This is a fabulous book! As always..fantastic

Extractions: Date: Fri, 19 Apr 1996 15:05:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Rex Wockner > ** by Rex Wockner The Costa Rican gay group Triangulo Rosa won a lawsuit last week against the federal Civil Registry office which was charged with denying legal charters to groups it disapproved of. The Defensoria de los Habitantes court ruled that the Constitution's free-association clause guarantees all legal organizations the right to official registration. Triangulo Rosa had been denied a charter until online foreign gays bombarded the Registry office with complaints. The group continued its lawsuit after the Registry backed down in hopes of achieving a legal precedent. "We are extremely pleased with this decision and we hope it will set a human-rights precedent in all Central and Latin American countries," said Triangulo Rosa President Francisco Madrigal. "Gays in this region continue to suffer abuses legally as well as socially." Triangulo Rosa recently opened a gay center in Alajuela, outside San Jose, with funds provided by the Dutch government. > ** by Rex Wockner About 40 gays, lesbians and transvestites protested at the Chilean consulate in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, March 27 against Chile's anti-sodomy law, one of only three gay-sex bans in Latin America. They burned Chile's flag and its penal code, attracting good press coverage. The demo was organized by Grupo Gay da Bahia following a request for action from activists in Santiago, Chile.
