Extractions: Chip's News Tune it to the Discovery Channel May 2, 2004 at 8:00 pm to see some of my graphic design work for the new reality TV show "Sucking Amps". For the Suck Amps EV Racing team, I created the T-shirts the guys are wearing and the graphics for the project vehicle, "Gone Postal". Also in the works is a Suck Amps EV Racing website. Anyway, I work from my home business, Digizone Designs , creating graphics and websites. It's been fun and recently pretty busy. Previously, I've worked for Boeing at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. A friend lured me away from GSFC to work for an internet startup which was going well till the bottom dropped out so I decided to strike out on my own.

The school won $1500 for the project. As part of a class in electric vehicle technology, students researched air pollution , basic electrical theory and the specifics of electric vehicle technology. They prepared presentations for community groups to increase awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles. The students have driven their master teaching vehicle, which they call Lightning, in the Jefferson Christmas parade. They presented their program to teachers at the Georgia Middle School Association conference and gave a presentation at a local elementary school. They planned a poster and essay contest for the school and a school-wide electric vehicle rally in May. The class can use the money for further implementation or purchase materials for the school's library. The school also receives an Enviroscape.

Extractions: Main Auto Racing htmlAdWH('7003382', '234', '60'); Welcome to the Cortez High School Electric Vehicle Racing Teams' page. This is my version of our web page. Please send any comments or questions to: Rsuiter@aol.com This car is our Plymouth Laser. This car is a very unique car in many ways. First, it has two advanced DC motors instead of just one. It also has two EVAS controlers. We have estimated it to have a maximum speed of about 140 miles per hour. This is our fastest and newest car. The frame of the car is welded to the roll cage inside and the batters boxes are welded to the frame of the car thus, making this car one piece. The car uses 16, 6 volt Trojan T-145 batteries which give it a range of about 50 miles on a charge. This car is not allowed to compete with other high school cars. An advanced class had to be formed to put this car in to . Click on the laser for more pictures. This is our Dodge Rampage. (Most likely this vehicle will never work again) This is one of our older cars. It competes in the high school class. This car is about four years old. This car is due for some major refinements. Next year we plan to give it a electric overhaul of sorts. We may even consider making it advanced class. This truck, like the laser, runs off of 16, 6 volt trojan batteries, except this one uses lighter T-125 batteries. It has a range of about 45 miles on a charge. It has a G.E. motor and a G.E. controler. We also have a Pontiac Fiero Our Fiero we made workable this year in two months in order to enter it in the Tour De AZ. It like the others runs off of 16, 6 volt Trojan T-125 batteries. This is our only street legal car we have as of now. It also has a G.E. motor and had a G.E. controler but we replaced it with a curtis controler this year. We redesigned the battery boxes to be lighter and hold the batteries better and allow easier access to important components. This car is very close to being street legal this year. It should be done in a few weeks.
