Who Is Honolulu Clean Cities Oahu Fleet Safety Organization; Pacific Biodiesel; Pacific students build (and race!)electric vehicles, development of Exhibition Hall of Club Pearl, Building http://www.hawaii.gov/dbedt/ert/cc/ccfswho.html
Extractions: Fuels and air quality Activity Book Clean Cities is a voluntary government and industry partnership coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy (www.ccities.doe.gov) . The program is designed to achieve a cleaner environment in major U.S. cities, reduce dependence on imported oil, and stimulate local economies by increasing the use of alternative fuels and alternative fuel vehicles. Over eighty cities and regions in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada have joined. Honolulu Clean Cities focuses on Hawaii's alternative fuels and vehicles (electric vehicles, LPG (propane), biodiesel, ethanol, and hydrogen). Honolulu received official designation in August, 1995 ( show photo ) as the 38th Clean City. The program is voluntary; organizations participate at whatever level they feel comfortable. For example, agreements between several fleets to use a single alternative fuel refueling site, instead of installing several alternative fuel sites, results in savings for everyone. Participants are interested in protecting the environment; using and producing clean fuels or vehicles; reducing state and national dependence on imported petroleum; and working together for efficient use of locally-available energy and other resources.

Extractions: Email: jettaro@calstatela.edu INTRODUCTION My area of teaching and research specialization are in the area of power, energy, and transportation. I have also been active in developing, modifying, and implementing new curriculum in these areas. I also have an interest and experience participating in and advising student clubs such as Society of Automotive Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, The Fluid Power Society and the National Association of Industrial Technology . I enjoy these student clubs because they allow the students to apply what they have learned in the classroom in a real world, competitive situations. TEACHING INTERESTS My teaching areas and interests include primarily power, energy, and transportation. I have taught at the university level for over 9 years. Although my primary area is power, energy and transportation, I've taught other subjects in the field of design and manufacturing including: Computer Aided Design and Drafting and Metallic Materials and Processes. Having these experiences allows me to show the importance of how power, energy, and transportation inter-link with manufacturing and industry.
