Hello, Im Sheriff David Graves. Welcome to our newly redesigned web site. Along with the new Walworth County design, we have added some new pages. We have also kept the information that many people have told us they find useful on our site. We will continue to update our site on a regular basis, so you may want to check back often to see what is new. The past year has brought about many staffing changes in our department, but one thing has not changed our dedication to serving and protecting the public. We continue to implement new programs to promote public safety. We encourage the public to become involved in the community and to work with us through programs such as Crime Stoppers and Neighborhood Watch. We now have a full-time Crime Prevention Officer who is available to meet with groups interested in becoming involved with these programs. Please take a look at our Crime Prevention page for more information and how to contact Deputy Smith directly. As always, your input and comments are welcome by our staff. Feel free to call our department or to email us.

Extractions: California Capital Office This project, based in Sacramento, focuses on reducing drug abuse, infectious disease and other harms associated with both drug use and drug prohibition. Priorities include prevention of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and fatal overdose in cities and states around the country. In the wake of the passage of the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act (Proposition 36), the elected officials and general public of California proved ready to be a leader in drug policy reform. The California Capitol Office works intimately with state legislators and agencies, county officials, the general public and affected communities to initiate and support drug policy reforms and life-saving public health measures. Additionally, the California Drug Policy Project serves as a watchdog, coordinating opposition to drug war legislation that perpetuates the death, disease, crime and suffering resulting from current drug policies.

Extractions: Drug Policy Task Force October, 1996 Introduction The Drug Policy Task Force, sponsored by the New York Country Lawyers' Association, commenced its operations in the Fall of 1993. The Task Force was established as a "blue-ribbon" panel of prominent and respected individuals, each known for his or her work, insights and involvement in the area of drug policy reform. The stated purpose of the Task Force has been to develop and urge implementation of rational and workable alternatives to current drug policy on both the state and federal levels. In an effort to develop a comprehensive and well-balanced approach to future drug policy, participants of the Task Force were drawn from various disciplines, including legal, medical and academic, as well as from each branch of government legislative, judicial and executive. After extensive study, public hearings, discussion and analysis of various issues within the broad scope of the drug policy debate, this working body now offers its "Report and Recommendations" for public consideration.
