Along with PTO President Quincy Lucas and VISTA volunteer Christine Dawson, Vaughn turned a collection of books for teachers into a lending library of more than 1,000 materials, including parents books, childrens books, games, flash cards, and even Sony PlayStations complete with a special set of educational video games. Parent involvement is the guiding principle of our school, says Rob Parker, the schools volunteer coordinator and second of three VISTA volunteers who will staff the resource center.
