Instead they will move math classes that were formerly taught in junior and senior school years into the freshman and sophomore semesters! On another front, the Arizona House of Representatives have exempted the AIMS test results from the Arizona Public Records Law But, as usual, Mr.Wonderful's column today has another lesson. That lesson is, consider if we were to have 'National Test Standards' issued by our Federal Educrats: Our public school system would respond by teaching exactly what answers are needed to pass the 'National Test.' If Washington's test includes questions on how 'great' F.D.R. was, and how President Lyndon Baines Johnson 'saved' the poor of this country, our children will be taught that Franklin D. was highly esteemed and no 'citizens' opposed his policies and that L.B.J. did indeed save the wretched poor of this country.

Extractions: Sample Lesson Part One: Centuries and Millennia Introduction. 'What year is it?" Most Americanseven quite young childrencan almost immediately answer this question. They wouldn't ponder because our calendar is taken for granted. We "naturally" use it to determine schedules, calculate age, make loan payments and plan for the future. As we become educated we expand our historical horizons and understand that our calendar had a "starting point" about 2,000 years ago. We know that from this starting point most people count forward in "A.D." times and backward in "B.C." eras. Further, we understand that other calendars exist. Most know of the age-old Chinese calendar. We're annually reminded of it during Chinese New Year celebrations. We learn that they celebrate the "Year of the Rabbit" (1999) and other creatures in a twelve-year cycle that extends back more than 5,000 years. If we are followers of Islam or have studied the faith, we know the Muslim calendar begins with Muhammad's flight from Mecca to Medina in 622 A.D. (by "our" calendar). Despite this intellectual understanding that a calendar is a human tool, many folks have superstitious beliefs linked to it. They see specific dates (days and years) as having magical powers in the same way they view four-leaf clovers or broken mirrors.

When you look at the scope of Executive Orders that Mr. Clinton has put into place I think hes really planning that the President have the power to deal with the situation (Y2K) in the most dictatorial fashion imaginable." If you believe Mr. Gause is exaggerating then read on. without without any constraints from Congress. In fact, EOs become law unless they are revoked by Congress. Knowing that Bill Clinton has expressed that he would not be a "lame duck" leader it appears that he intends to legislate his will with the use Executive Orders. Depending on your political persuasion you may not view that as all bad - until you find out what the Clinton EOs contain. Even died-in-the-wool liberals would find many of Clintons EOs and PDDs troubling and puzzling if not down right hair-raising. The concern is multiplied times over when one adds up what the sum total effect of these EOs and PDDs. First of all, Executive Order 13107 decrees that human rights descend not from God but from worldly governmental authorities - with the ultimate authority represented by the United Nations. From all we see, it seems that the UN believes people have the right to dissent, unless it is dissent against the United Nations. Now with that as the basis of his logic, consider that all things terrifying, socialistic and unconstitutional are possible, at least in the mind of globalist Bill Clinton.

"To help [students] to improve, introduce 'sound-alike word' practice. This could start from a listening perspectiveyou state one of two identified sound-alike words, and on a piece of paper they mark one of two pictures (soccer or circle). Then repeat the word in a sentence where structure and meaning will give hints as to which word could fit the sentence. When they start to realize that hearing a word will affect their ability to comprehend a sentence, they will listen harder, and that is the first step toward them concentrating on pronouncing the words more clearly themselves."
