The Truth About Pensacola And Escambia County Crime Stats The Truth About Pensacola City. and Escambia County crime stats. By Dale C. Crow. See the bottom of the page for the Jan/June 1997 stats. 1995 vs 1996 I asked him if he could look up the total drug arrests for 96 and he did http://www.godnet.org/crime.htm
Extractions: 1995 vs 1996 I have heard for myself, Steve Hill and John Kilpatrick stand in the pulpit and state that the crime rate has dropped in Pensacola, due in part by the revival at Brownsville. The Pentecostal Evangel reported in their November 10, 1996, edition that "the crime rate has declined. "Different figures are being reported by different people, but the facts do not support these testimonies. Please note: Brownsville Assembly of God is not located in the City limits of Pensacola it is in Escambia County. The two times I heard for myself the crime rates quoted they made no reference to it being "Youth Crime Rate". On 08/21/1997: I spoke with Ginny Graybiel with the Pensacola News Journal about her Jan. 3, 1997 article entitled "Juvenile Crime Falls For The 1ST Time In 5 years" . She said "it was a long time ago and she didn't really remember all of her stats". She did say that "it was very confusing". She referred me to the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. I also talked with Mike Morris the administrative assistant to the sheriff of Escambia County (Jim Lowman) . He said that he has gotten tons of calls from all over the US about the crime rate. Mr. Morris was very friendly and quite open. He told me that

The first three provide arrests for Part I offenses (murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny, auto theft, and arson) and for Part II offenses (forgery, fraud, embezzlement, vandalism, weapons violations, sex offenses, drug and alcohol abuse violations, gambling, vagrancy, curfew violations, and runaways). The fourth file provides reported offenses (as opposed to arrests) for Part I crimes only. Two county population variables are included : one for total county population and the other for counties reporting six months or more of data. Data collected by the United States Department of Justice - Federal Bureau of Investigation. The data used in this presentation were obtained via anonymous ftp from the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data Other crime data is available in spreadsheet and interactive format from the Bureau of Justice Statistics , including state-level data.

Extractions: dqmcodebase = "/scripts/" This file provides arrest data for Part I offenses (murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny, auto theft, and arson) and for Part II offenses (forgery, fraud, embezzlement, vandalism, weapons violations, sex offenses, drug and alcohol abuse violations, gambling, vagrancy, curfew violations, and runaways). Two county population variables are included: one for total county population and the other for counties reporting six months or more of data. UNIVERSE: County law enforcement agencies in the United States. NOTE: Data have been aggregated to the county level. Within each county, data for agencies reporting 6 to 11 months of information were weighted to yield 12-month equivalents. Agencies reporting fewer than 6 months of data were excluded from the ag gregation. Data from agencies reporting only statewide figures were allocated to counties in proportion to each county's share of the state population (which totaled the populations of those county agencies reporting 6 months or more of data). MISSING DATA: 1991: No arrest data are included for South Carolina and no arrest or offense data are included for Iowa due to those states' conversion to NIBRS in 1991.

Arrests for driving under the influence were up 155 percent and improper lane usage arrests were up 86 percent during the same time. That doesnt necessarily mean there were more drunks behind the wheel of speeding, swerving vehicles in South Beloit. However, Police Chief Larry Schultz said, it does show that his officers, the majority of whom have been hired since 2001, are starting to come of age and mature.
