Extractions: Organization: University of Colorado at Denver The University of Colorado at Denver (UCD), in collaboration with the Together Foundation/TogetherNet, has pioneered the development of Colorado Education Online (CEO). CEO is a state of the art telecommunication network featuring highly powerful yet east to use graphical e-mail, conferencing, and resources for students and educators. Over the past two years, CEO has successfully pursued its vision of presenting to educators the incredible power of telecommunication in a format that is not only easy to use, but compelling in terms of its utility in communicating with colleagues and sharing resources and information in ways unheard of just a few short years ago. CEO has proven to be the next step forward in meeting the communication needs of UCD faculty and students by providing them with an e-mail and conferencing platform that is not only much more user friendly than the commonly used UNIX based systems, but more powerful as well. A refinement of the TogetherNet network (an adaptation of First Class software), CEO is accessible from both the PC-Windows and Macintosh platforms. In recent months, CEO has created a presence on the World Wide Web (WWW) in anticipation of combining its unique communication capabilities with the seemingly unlimited resources of the Web. The network currently has 4,000 users and is growing on a daily basis. Over fifty separate bulletin boards/conferences are actively operating at any given point. These bulletin boards/conference include 10-15 UCD courses using CEO to support academic activities.
