Explicit instructional objectives have become essential in medical education and have been developed nationally for students in surgery, gynecology, and pediatric clerkships. The authors describe the rationale for and process of developing psychiatry clerkship ob-jectives, first at the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP) and then by the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry. Faculty interviews about the development of psychiatry clerkship objectives at MCP illustrate the objectives' positive educational impact. (Academic Psychiatry 1997; 21:179-204) In recent years, the demand for explicit learning objectives in medical education has escalated because of expectations of licensing agencies and curriculum committees. Departments must specify the goals of their teaching and assess competence using such objectives (1). Model clerkship curricula have been developed by the Association for Surgical Education, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics.

Extractions: The primary objective is to identify projects, scholarship opportunities, publications and other resources aimed at increasing diversity in international studies. This information is presented in searchable form on this website to facilitate its use among institutions aiming to enhance participation of underrepresented groups in international education. In this article it specifies the importance of science students being in contact with alternative ways of thinking and doing things from around the globe, and the students needing to have a better understanding of the global effects of their work. Subtle and not so subtle differences in culture can neither be learned in a classroom nor obtained from books and that's why altenatives need to be developed in order to get more students to participate. But, before they can embark on an international science education program, science faculty and students need some idea of the scientific environment into which the students will be placed. This journal discusses various issues surrounding this concern.

Extractions: Utilities in states that have not restructured their electric systems are currently leading the way in selling green power, according to a new report by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). So-called "green pricing" programs, in which utilities sell renewable-generated electricity at a premium price, grew dramatically in 1999, with 24 new utility programs. That nearly doubled the 1998 number of programs, bringing the total to 52. Those programs have led to 73 megawatts of new renewable energy installations, with another 120 megawatts planned. Note that these numbers don't include renewable energy installations mandated by state laws.

Moving To Colorado Online resources for the Front Range including demographics, sports, recreation, business listings, education, and government resources. http://www.coloradocentral.net/
Extractions: Welcome to Colorado Central.net. This site was created as a result of a 1999 move to Colorado. I spent hours searching for links to relevant information: things like where to get my driver's license, county school district information, looking for things to do once I got here, and even how to find hotels along the 2,000 mile drive from the east coast that would permit a cat and a dog. This site is intended to be the resource that I wish I'd had prior to my move. Updated on 01/01/03 I designed this site primarily to help anyone thinking about moving to Colorado, or in the process of planning a move to Colorado. There are also a few links here to keep you busy once you've unpacked from your move and are ready to start exploring the area. The focus is on Denver and Boulder, and Colorado Springs, since that is where most of the people are. It's also been easier for me to research, since that's where I lived. If you've found something you think should be here, or have a question, please do not hesitate to let me know Home Moving Government ... Colorado Central.net
