Contact Information Department Overview The chemistry department at Whittier College seeks to educate students in the five disciplines of chemistry Students gain an appreciation for the nature of molecules in the world around them by learning both the theoretical basis for chemistry as well as a hands on laboratory approach. In addition, research opportunities give students the chance to develop a deeper understanding of the scientific process through planning and designing experiments, data collection, and data analysis.
