Dateline 30 May 2004 Event Notice Site Visit Westshore Terminals Ltd., Roberts Bank, Delta Westshore Terminals operates the largest coal-exporting terminal in North America from its facility at Roberts Bank in Delta. The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of 26 million tonnes and has exported over 500 million tonnes since it opened for business in 1970. The tour will be by bus departing from the Town And Country Inn. Attendees coming from north of the river should add 10-15 minutes to the normal journey time to allow for possible back-up of the Dees tunnel in the south-bound direction. Eng., Manager, Engineering and Environmental Services at Westshore Terminals Ltd. After working for some time in the U.K. and Germany, David joined Westshore in 1981 at the time of a major expansion to the coal-exporting facilities. Since that time he has overseen the capital works programme including the successful reconstruction of two quadrant ship-loaders which were lost to storm damage in 2003. David is a Chartered Engineer and holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester.
