A single spire from the church is 445 feet tall, a peak incomprehensible to a girl who lives in an area where the tallest buildings are a mere 15 stories high. The Gothic architecture and the minute details associated with it have made me realize the infinite possibilities architecture provides. You can have a massive building capable of surviving hundreds of years as well as World War II, and still have it equipped with such delicate details as hundreds of stained glass panels or chiseled gargoyles.
