Extractions: March 29, 2004 On February 5, 1999, in U.S. District Court in Lincoln, Nebraska, an extraordinary hearing occurred in Paul A. Bonacci v. Lawrence E. King, a civil action in which the plaintiff charged that he had been ritualistically abused by the defendant, as part of a nationwide pedophile ring linked to powerful political figures in Washington and to elements of the U.S. military and intelligence establishment. Three weeks later, on February 27, Judge Warren K. Urbom ordered King, who is currently in Federal prison, to pay $1 million in damages to Bonacci, in what Bonacci's attorney John DeCamp said was a clear signal that "the evidence presented was credible." During the February 5 hearing, Noreen Gosch stunned the court with sworn testimony linking U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael Aquino (ret.) to the nationwide pedophile ring. Her son, Johnny, then 12 years old, was kidnapped off the streets of West Des Moines, Iowa on September 5, 1982, while he was doing his early-morning newspaper deliveries. Since his kidnapping, she has devoted all of her time and resources to finding her son, and to exposing the dangers that millions of children in American face from this hideous, literally Satanic underground of ritualistic deviants.

It began here, with the first footprints on the beaches of Normandy."

George Miller, D-Martinez, urged the House and Senate armed services committees to reject the Pentagon's request for authority to start another base closure process in 2003. "We believe it would be unfair and inefficient to close even one more base" while California communities still are struggling with the shutdown of 29 major bases in the past rounds, the two lawmakers said in a joint letters. State officials estimate that closing those large bases and dozens of smaller facilities cost California nearly 100,000 jobs and $9.6 billion in total revenues. Californians have good reasons to be concerned about the future. Despite losing nearly one-third of the 97 major bases closed in the four previous rounds, the state still has a number of large installations that could be prime candidates for the next round. Several of those are in Southern California. The odds alone indicate California could get hit again.

Extractions: Oakland defeats military charter school By Marilyn Bechtel OAKLAND, Calif. After hours of impassioned testimony mostly from teachers, students, union representatives and community activists opposing the measure the Oakland School Board, in a tie vote, last week defeated a military charter school proposed by Mayor Jerry Brown and City Manager Robert Bobb. The school was to open in September with 162 seventh graders, ultimately becoming a college-preparatory boarding school with 1,000 students and a faculty drawn from the National Guard and civilian instructors. Gov. Gray Davis had pledged $1.3 million in state funds. First to speak was city council member Nancy Nadel, who called for converting the state funds to non-military purposes. "The only choice offered low-income minority students to get out of the ghetto is to join the military," she said. "To achieve a real choice, we must demand that these funds be converted to non-military purposes and made available to all the schools. " "The Black and Brown community is already under siege by police; now you want the military to train our people to turn on our people?" demanded Oakland High School teacher Cassandra Lopez, who said she spoke "as a mother, grandmother, educator and fighter for all working people."

News Clips "No Child Left Behind Act" of 2001 requires that all secondary schools provide the military with access to a student's private information. By Craig Peterson One of the things I find most annoying when sitting down to eat dinner is getting a telephone call from someone asking if I have considered refinancing my home, getting a free insurance check-up, or changing my phone company. Thankfully, some telemarketing calls are less likely now that our son is no longer in high school-calls from military recruiters. Like other organizations with a product, recruiters contact many high school juniors and seniors each year hoping to fulfill their military enlistment quotas. Unlike other businesses, however, the military doesn't have to buy lists of names, addresses, and phone numbers. They can go to any secondary school and get the contact information of every student for free.

Extractions: October 2, 2002 By a Washington Post Staff Writer Threatened with the loss of $350 million in federal funds, Yale University announced yesterday that it would allow military recruiters to attend a law school career day - but that it would also seek ways to resist Pentagon pressure for access to such events because the military violates the school's non-discrimination policy. In agreeing to accept the recruiters, Yale followed the lead of several law schools nationwide also facing the loss of federal funds, including, in recent weeks, those at Harvard University and the University of Southern California. But higher education officials said Yale is apparently the first university to announce it would challenge the Pentagon on this issue. "The university is committed to complying with the law, but we intend to pursue a determination of whether the law school's current policy satisfies the legal requirements," Yale President Richard C. Levin said in a statement.
