In addition, it is ideally poised for the future in that it supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications running concurrently. It uses the new copper technology enhanced PowerPC RS64 III processor and is offered in 6-, 12-, 18-, and 24-way configurations. The S80 also includes a greatly enhanced set of central electronic complex (CEC) support logic. More specifically, the memory controller complex was dramatically updated.
