He was much, much more. Atlas was a bodybuilding devotee who made a fortune peddling his philosophy of physical fitness through mail orders. Kids of two or three generations ago may recall the ads in magazines or comic books relating how a 90-pound weakling, fed up with getting sand kicked in his face by a bully, gained his vengeance by becoming a disciple of Atlas' "dynamic tension" fitness program. But for all of his physical perfection, Atlas didn't win six consecutive world championships in weightlifting or a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal in the Olympics. Stanley Stanczyk did. He became a weightlifter as a matter of survival growing up in the rough and tough Polish neighborhoods on Detroit's west side. "We were so poor," recalled Stanczyk, "my clothes were old and tattered. The sisters (at St. Hedwig School, which he attended for eight years) used to send me home."

Extractions: The original Stardust Bowl was built by Tishner Construction Company. It was owned and operated by Jim Dietzen. The bowling center boasted twelve lanes and was located on North 10th Street in Noblesville. The center featured AMF's latest pinsetters, ball returns and seating. Noblesville was on the bowling map. Talmage Massey was our first manager. Charles Cooper became owner, operator of the center in 1963. He named Noel Revis manager in 1969. Noel was our manager until May of 1985, and is still part of the Stardust team today. The center was expanded to 24 lanes in 1973. On May 5, 1999, Coopers Stardust Bowl hosted REGGIE BOWL. Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers hosted a Celebrity Bowling Party with members of the Pacers, Colts, US Olympic Team, musical talent NSYNC along with national TV personalities. The Fund Raiser was for the Reggie Miller Foundation which helps Burn Victims and their families. The event raised more than $150,000. This year we held the REGGIE BOWL on April 4. We were able to double last years donations by raising $300,000 for the burn victims at Riley Hospital and Burn Camps. In the future Coopers Stardust Bowl intends to be on the cutting edge of the bowling industry, to give our bowlers an establishment they are proud to call their "BOWLING HOME." Our company motto is "Whatever it takes to make our customer happy and satisfied is the responsibility of all employees."
