Lascelles Park cash boost Main Content 13/02/04 - Young people are being asked to help Darlington Council design the Borough's new mobile skate park at a special 'Get on Board - Come and Try and Have Your Say' day next week. The event, being held on Thursday 19 February in Darlington Market Square, will offer skateboarders, rollerbladers, BMX bikers, as well as people with a general interest in the design of the Borough's new mobile skate park, a chance to try for themselves some of the equipment that could be included in the park. The Council wants to find out what young people think of the equipment to help decide what to buy for the skate park. In addition, young people attending the event will be asked to suggest a name for the 'truck' - the vehicle that will house and transport the mobile skate park equipment. The mobile skate park will be funded by £70,000 of New Opportunities Fund money. The funding was secured by the Ramps Team, a group of local young people who are leading research into possible skate park solutions for the Borough, and Darlington Council. When it opens later this year, the mobile skate park will tour around the Borough giving local young people the chance to try out their boarding, blading and biking skills in their own area. Lee Vasey, the Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: "Many young people have already taken part in research and consultation led by the Ramps Team to share their views on what they would like to see in terms of skate park facilities in the Borough. Their views have been used to shape the future of skate park facilities including a static skate park in South Park and the new mobile skate park. The 'Get on Board - Come and Try and Have Your Say' afternoon will give young people a further chance to directly influence what facilities will be provided in the Borough."

It is during this time that the staff are placed with their co-counselor(s) and age group of children. We have found that a staff that works together in orientation makes a tight bond that carries through out the summer and even beyond. ll of our staff are required to teach at least 2 activities. Everyone is hired for their capabilities in either teaching or assisting these activities. There are no positions for just a general counselor. Our elective program has activities running all day for the children. The campers chose what they want to do, and the staff run the sports, arts, adventure courses and waterfronts for them, while effectively enforcing all safety regulations.
Extractions: document.write(BANNER); E ACH YEAR 300,000 DIE FROM OBESITY RELATED ILLNESSES By Andy Summa Obesity is reaching epidemic proportions, affecting millions of people every year. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 300,000 Americans now die each year from obesity-related illnesses. Reducing obesity has traditionally focused on lowering caloric intake by dieting, but there is growing evidence that exercise deprivation is also a major contributor to obesity. With metabolic systems shaped by 4 million years of highly active hunting and gathering, many people may not be able to maintain a healthy body weight without regular exercise, according to the Worldwatch Institute Surveys show that 57 percent of Americans exercise only occasionally or not at all, a number that corresponds closely with the share of the population that is overweight.

Physical Fitness For You And Your Dog In ThePetCenter.com. examples of these types of exercise are jogging, biking, hiking, roller blading, crosscountry of these types of activities, but for safety reasons keep http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/fit.html
Extractions: Dog World Magazine Physical fitness for dogs and humans has rewards that far outweigh the struggle that's required to become fit. Nugget was a Golden Retriever and a member of our family for sixteen, memorable years. And one of the fondest memories I will carry with me the rest of my life is of the innumerable early morning runs we took together along the old forested logging roads just outside our door in northern Wisconsin. Her enthusiasm for the forty-minute exercise sessions sparked my commitment to good health, especially on those mornings when Id rather have skipped our run and she just wouldnt allow it. Until kidney disease claimed her at age sixteen, her state of health was excellent and despite an arthritic spine, her mobility was always very good. Far outweighing the inconvenience of committing time and effort to achieve physical fitness, the rewards of being physically fit, for man and dog, will last a lifetime. And those rewards can actually be felt physically and emotionally.
