This membership is designed primarily for home educating families that need access to consultation services, therapy services and need help with their special needs child, but do not need a school cover or do not live in Alabama. School Enrollment The school enrollment offers a school covering for homeschoolers in Alabama, unlimited consultation services, IEP writing, discounted therapy services, educational program development, free access to training and workshops, use of centers and training, a monthly newsletter, information on local outings with other families and a support network for the Alabama area. School enrollment is available to residents of Alabama only. For Alabama: Alabama State law requires school enrollment and attendance. Enrollment with VAST Network satisfies these laws. Enrollment forms are completed and sent to the school board upon enrollment. You will receive a copy of the enrollment form for your records and a copy will be sent to your local school district as proof of enrollment. Monthly attendance forms will be sent to the school by the 5th of each month (August - July) and will be on record. . It is up to the parent to keep track of the days you school your child(ren). It is also the family's responsibility to keep records of your child's information and education. We recommend a journal and or work samples or portfolio throughout the school year, however, this method is only one of many ways to keep educational records and you are not limited to this method. Members are required to attend an intake workshop prior to receiving consultation or services and an annual IEP workshop each summer for the first two years.
