Saarinen defied categorization, employing a different style for every job, and that damned him in the eyes of many critics. Some of his buildings soar-the TWA Terminal at Kennedy, now imperiled, was once a thrilling expression of the jet age-others, like Stiles and Morse College at Yale, and the US Embassy in London fall with a thud. Roman, a Bilbao-based architect, traces the evolution of key buildings with an abundance of plans and images. ... Read more Isbn:

There are really poor selections of western food on airside, and not much better on landside. If they fixed these things, it would be hard to fault. Hong Kong Int'l Airport by Michael Young 26 April 2004 CLK is no doubt the best airport in the world, when it comes to design, facilities, ease of used service. Spacious check in counter, for all airlines, particularly Economy class area, since most people do not have the lux to fly business or first class. spacious, airy, bright, comfortable general boarding area. It makes all the rushing, waiting in the airport more enjoyable. The airport rail access is the best I have ever seen, in terms of cost, speed, access - it gets you almost anywhere in HK you like.

Synonymous with architectural photography, Robertson was at the helm of Panda Photography, the premiere house for architectural photography, where he perfected the art he began in the 1930's. For the next sixty years Robertson would go on to record a country bursting at the seams with energy and exuberance. Robertson refined himself as an artist with a sharp eye whose work was defined with a bold, dramatic, and simple elegance. His oeuvre includes architecture, commercial, industrial and war photography. As one of the chief documentarians of the 20th Century Robertson belongs to a unique league of gentlemen photograhers that were true pioneers.
