ADD ADHD Kids Page Brief description of the condition tells what behaviors are usually associated with it. Also looks at what's good about having add. http://www.atc.unh.edu/~fisk/KidsPage.html
Extractions: For Kids What is ADD/ADHD? ADD is a diagnosis from a doctor. It stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. When deciding if a person has ADD, the doctor looks to see if the person has certain behaviors most of the time. What are these behaviors? Inattention - is when a person has a hard time paying attention, especially when something is boring or there are a lot of details to remember. Many times the person doesnt seem to listen when spoken to and has a hard time following directions. Also, the person might seem forgetful and loose a lot of things. Hyperactivity - means that the person has extra energy. The person might be squirmy, fidgety, talkative - they just cant sit still. Sometimes there is even more energy and it looks like the person is running on a battery that just doesnt wear out. Impulsivity - happens when a person doesnt stop to think before an action. Examples are blurting out answers in class, not waiting for your turn, or interrupting when other people are speaking. How does learning about ADD help?

Awards for our site AD/HD and Medication: The Basics There has been controversy about the use of medications to treat both children and adults with Attention Deficit Disorder There have been articles debating whether Ritalin is over or under prescribed. When people ask me about this, I tell them that I can only answer for the children and adults that I have evaluated or treated. Yes, there probably are some individuals who have received medication when some other treatment might have been better. On the other hand, there are probably others who were not been diagnosed for years and could have benefited from medication. Finally, even if someone has attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and is on medication, is it the best medication, dosage and timing?

Less than one month later I found my birthfather. My first three links are to sites that I found to be very informative for those persons involved in adoption. I feel that, since I found my biological family, a void has finally been filled in my life and I would like to help others find their family as well. I have two wonderful children named Andrew and Sarah and a great husband named Chris . Andrew has ADHD and Autism, that is why I chose to add links to those two topics as well. I hope that the links will help people in a similar situation to find the resources they need. If you know of a site that deals with any of these topics, please feel free to give me the URL to the site and I will give you credit on my page for your contribution.
