Extractions: of Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder PhosADD Australia describes here the pioneering work of German research scientist and pharmacist Hertha Hafer , largely unknown in the English-speaking world: Modern diets are abundant with phosphates. Phosphate is a very common and highly versatile food additive; its use by food industry has increased enormously over the last fifty years, interestingly in parallel with the explosion of the ADD/ADHD syndrome in the industrialised Western countries. Although phosphate is an essential mineral, important for health and well-being, by eating today's food we take in much more than our bodies can actually use. Hafer observed how excess phosphate in the human body inhibits the absorption of other important minerals, leading to serious mineral imbalances and deficiencies, triggering ADD/ADHD and a host of other health problems. A phosphate-reduced diet led to dramatic improvements in Hafer's son's behaviour, well-being and school performance, making medication unnecessary. Her family's ADD problem was resolved and her son had no further problems as long as he avoided foods high in phosphate. For almost thirty years thousands of families in Europe have been following Hafer's recommendations and have been rewarded with normal, manageable, lovable, happy and sometimes highly performing children.

Activity Oriented Group Therapy For Children With ADD/HD At Quest Therapeutic Da A day camp in Huntington Beach, California which provides group therapy in an activity oriented environment for children ages 614 with add, adhd and certain other forms of learning and personality disorders. Supervised by Dr. Linda C. Sanicola. Three, four, and five week sessions. http://www.QuestCampHB.com
Extractions: THE QUEST PROGRAM: Quest's therapeutic program uniquely combines behavioral methods, group therapy, recreational activities and instructional athletics to assist each child in developing new skills and eliminating those actions which create difficulties for them. By observing a child in a naturalistic setting, Quest staff are able to intervene as problems occur. Issues are presented to the child in a positive manner, helping the child to see the problem and possible positive solutions. Through instruction in athletics, each child builds skills and self-esteem. This enables them to participate with peers more effectively and successfully. Quest campers range in age from 6 to 14 years old. The typical Quest camper has above average intelligence and many strengths. They may experience frustration in their lives and poor self-esteem due to their perception of failure and lack of acceptance from peers. They might be kids that struggle in finding stable, good friends, in achieving consistently the goals they desire, a kid who comes home from school upset because of a sense of rejection or failure. Campers may have diagnoses of Attention Deficit Disorder, learning disabilities, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, or self-esteem problems. Children with more complex problems are not appropriate for Quest. Our campers do not look or act differently than other children. Problems they experience are more subtle yet significant in their effect on the child and the family. Without intervention, these children are at higher risk for more serious problems in the future.
