Later she worked in SAC (Strategic Air Command) Headquarters three floors underground, where she not-so-affectionately traversed the "mole-hole" to get to work daily and held staff meetings in the morgue. After hours she recuperated on the beach or poolside. Upon separating from the Air Force, Elaine's father claims she started her "career student" phase of her life. She earned her Associates of Arts degree, Business Administration of Accounting degree and then her Masters of Business Administration degree. She worked for a few years in accounting and proposal development before switching to business administration for a charity. But deep inside, the daydreamer longed to get out. Her creative side would not be denied.

Twilight Times Books originally opened in May 1999 and launched half a dozen books. Then, for personal reasons, I turned the publishing branch of TT Books over to Dark Star Publications (DSP) in July 1999. This included twenty-five books under contract. Among the books I had placed under contract were several books by Charlotte Boyett-Compo. Not many people are aware of this, but I personally edited BloodWind and NightWind and completed final edits on WindFall, all written by Charlee. In addition, I completed final edits on Where the Fire Thorns Grow by Marilyn Kapp, Night Kiss and Escape by Kim Whalen, Deadly Obsession by Patricia Rasey, The Thirteenth Magician by Pat Welch, Night Must Always Come by Sally Odgers and other great books that subsequently gathered excellent reviews. In addition, I personally edited the Twilight Visions anthology now being published by DSP which is also garnering four star reviews. But you see, I wanted to become a writer again. In order to do this, I needed to give up several job titles publisher, director of operations (fabrication and fulfillment), director of marketing (promo and publicity), editor-in-chief, web master, etc. My own creative writing had been going well until I discovered the Internet in October 1997 and became sidetracked by building web sites, an online
