Extractions: November January 27, 2001 The Return Of Mario Many hockey card and memorabilia collectors have been complaining over the last few years about the lack of a superstar to drive the hobby forward. Although Wayne Gretzky has retired, his cards and memorabilia are still strong sellers but collectors are becoming a bit overwhelmed with the amount of Gretzky cards on the market. Many of us thought that Paul Kariya or Jaromir Jagr would take over as the hobby giant but unfortunately the Great Ones skates have been too hard to fill.

Brock Matusiak was solid in goal for both the games as Brendan Caraher was called up to the Florida Panthers for Xmas vacation along with center Joey Burt. After the New Year, Sarnia travelled to Brantford to play their arch rivals. The Sting played a great road game and after more than a week off, came home with a 3-2 victory. Litrenta, Burt and Epps found the back of the net and Joe McKelvie looked like the 2nd coming of Wayne Gretzky in Brantford with 3 great assists. Expecting Caraher back soon, Matusiak was rock solid against the 99er's and was a big reason for the win.
