The tie puts Colgate more than a game behind first place St. Lawrence, so Colgate will finish second and will most likely host Yale in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Championships on Mar. 10-12. Colgate closes out the season against Yale on Saturday in Starr Rink. Colgate (20-7-2, 13-4-2 ECAC) took the early lead when Hobey Baker Memorial Award candidate Andy McDonald scored his 18th goal of the season on a power-play at 15:13 of the first period from Cory Murphy and Mike Marostega. Murphy found McDonald who skated just outside the crease and slid the puck past Princeton goaltender Dave Stathos. Princeton (10-13-4, 8-8-4 ECAC) evened the score with an even-strength marker at 16:09 of the second period when George Parros netted his third goal of the season from Scott Prime.

Junior goalie Dan Yacey backstopped the Big Green with 25 saves and Dartmouth took a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross, Saturday, November 1. The Crusaders grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Pierre Napert-Frenette with 7:28 elapsed but that would be their only opportunity as Yacey stopped 11 of 12 Holy Cross shots in the first period. Dartmouth came out like a different team in the second period. Despite firing only nine shots on net, the Big Green dictated play throughout. Dartmouth scored a pair of goals four minutes apart early in the second period.

Calgary Flames Hockey - NHL Notes cory cross, who picked up two assists in Edmonton s 62 win overthe Canucks in Vancouver on Saturday night, was a late scratch. http://www.calgaryflames.com/cgi-bin/news/comments.cgi?type=newsroom&file_num=00
Extractions: R. Casey and B.Gomes, Xaverian Weekly and Ontarion The hard fought University Cup final came down to just one shot, but it was the shot by a UQTR Patriots forward that everyone will remember. At 1:25 of the second overtime period, Marc-Etienne Hubert split the St. Francis Xavier defence and slid the puck under goalie David Haun as the Université du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres defeated the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men 5-4 in the CIAU men's hockey final last Sunday. The number-two ranked Patriots were crowned Canadian Inter-university Athletic Union men's hockey national champions for the third time in their history on a weekend when nearly everyone thought the University Cup would be headed to Edmonton for a second straight year. "It was our goal at the start of the season to have our hands on the trophy today," UQTR head coach Jacques Laporte told reporters after the game. "It was a great weekend," said tournament MVP Alexandre Tremblay, overcome with emotion. "We worked very hard, especially today. I cannot believe this is actually happening." For St.FX, the small school located on the shores of Nova Scotia, it was a dramatic and disappointing finish. They outplayed the Patriots throughout the affair and were a mere goal away from joining the champion X-Men basketball team to become the first Canadian school to win CIAU hockey and basketball titles in the same season.
