"He Shoots, He Scores" Redemption Program Boston Bruins: Parkhurst Original Six The Boston Bruins were the first U.S.-based team to join the National Hockey League in 1924-25. Founded by Charles Adams, the club quickly became competitive after the addition of the legendary Eddie Shore. With a brand new home in the Boston Gardens in 1928, the club proceeded to win its first Stanley Cup that season. Through the years, there have been many greats in Beantown, names like Clapper, Hitchman, Schmidt, Bucyk, Esposito, Neely... and two certified modern-day legends in Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque. Boston has laid claim to five Stanley Cups and the franchise's all-time winning percentage of .549 is the third-best mark in NHL history. Hockey purists look very fondly on the days of the Original Six when you knew the name and number of every player in the league. The base set of each team in Parkhurst Original Six features 100 cards of past and present players. The 30-card current-player subset is the largest team set ever made. The Alumni subset features some of the greatest players in the history of the Boston franchise including recently retired Raymond Bourque, the magnificent Bobby Orr, and the legendary Woody Dumart.

Extractions: Be A Player Trading Cards News > Be A Player News (Toronto, ON; January 9, 2004): That's no typo... the legendary Bobby Orr has joined the In The Game team. In The Game, the Toronto-based manufacturer of Parkhurst, Be A Player, and In The Game hockey trading cards is thrilled to announce they have reached an agreement with hockey icon Bobby Orr, a true superstar and innovator, an individual we consider the greatest defenseman in the history of the game. The agreement provides In The Game exclusive rights to produce hockey trading cards of Bobby Orr in a number of different brands throughout 2004. Initial plans call for a variety of base cards, inserts, autographed cards and game-used memorabilia cards. "I can't tell you what a thrill this is for me," exclaimed Dr. Brian H. Price, President of In The Game. "Any time you have an opportunity to associate your company with the likes of Bobby Orr it is certain to make a big impression. I am certainly honored to have them on board. I waited almost 10 years to work with Bobby again." "More importantly, I can't overlook what this means to hockey card collectors, especially those who have supported us loyally throughout the years. Now we will have an opportunity to deliver something we were unable to provide before. I've always maintained that our hockey cards offer outstanding value, superior quality and the best designs. Now we've locked up one of the best players for those cards."

Extractions: Wednesday Roundup Click here for more on this story Posted: Thursday June 15, 2000 12:25 PM Ray Bourque had eight goals and six assists in 14 games with the Avalanche. Brian Bahr/Allsport DENVER (AP) Raymond Bourque, who helped fuel the Avalanche's failed bid for the Stanley Cup, signed a contract Wednesday that will keep him with Colorado for another year. The 39-year-old Bourque could have tried his luck on the free-agent market beginning July 1, but chose to stay with Colorado. The contract was for one year plus an option, but other details were not disclosed. "The Avalanche is a very competitive and contending club and I am looking forward to continue playing in a great hockey environment," Bourque said. "Ray is an impact player for our hockey club and every one of our players will be excited to know that he will be back with us," said general manager Pierre Lacroix. "Ray is in tremendous shape and is as strong as he has ever been."
